New HVAC Technology Will Forever Change Your Home and Business
Arizona energy prices are very high if you haven’t noticed! That is because we consume so much of it. President Trump has lifted restrictions on how energy companies can utilize more resources, like coal, in order to help lower costs. However, technology is also going to help Arizona residents save money by cutting down energy use in homes.

Motion Sensor Air Conditioning
Smart temperature-control devices – such as thermostats that learn and adjust to pre-programmed temperatures are poised to increase comfort and save energy in homes.
Technology companies have created smart vents homeowners install in a place of traditional vents and then plug a sensor into each room. The sensors constantly measure a rooms temperature and then relay that information to the hub which tells the vents when to open and close.
Thermal Air Conditioning
This new technology will take several years before commercial buildings begin utilizing this low-cost alternative. Thermally driven air conditioning systems use a unique blend of solar energy/solar panel technology and natural gas. These systems use a double effect chiller that uses high temperature at around 350F. Solar panels do not have the capability to produce that much energy or heat and so thermal energy panels are needed.
Gas prices are the lowest they have ever been and electricity costs are sky rocketing. The mix between gas and solar make thermal air conditioning units the future of energy saving and cost saving for commercial buildings.
Ice Powered Air Conditioning
This amazing technology cuts down ac costs by 30%. The technology is reminiscent of a swamp cooler. A tank of water is cooled by night turning it into ice and then during the day the ice cools the refrigerant. That cool air is then blown into the house through the ventilation system.
The technology is able to cool a home for up to 6-hours during the day which isn’t long enough yet – however the technology will continue to improve over time.
Duel Fuel Heat Pumps
This innovative design uses a combination of electric heat pump and gas furnace. At low temperatures the pump draws from gas heat because gas costs much less than electricity. So when the building is at its coldest the pump is using gas in order to efficiently and effectively warm the building. When temperature is at its highest the electricity pump takes over in order to maintain comfortability in the building.
The initial cost to install a dual fuel heat pump is expensive but giving the savings over the years will more than make up it.
Geothermal Heat Pumps
Sometimes referred to as GeoExchange this technology gets its energy from the ground. These heating pumps use the temperature of the earth in exchange of outside temperatures.
The EPA says “Like a cave, ground temperature is warmer than the air above it during the winter and cooler than the air in the summer. Geothermal Heat Pumps take advantage of this by exchanging heat with the ears through a ground heat exchange.
